Faster than Light Means to go at a speed greater than the Speed of Light, or 299,792,458 meters per second. In real life, there is no real known way of actually exceeding light speed, as it would require infinite energy and would result in that which is going FTL to possibly go back in time.

However, in the world of fiction, many verses have methods of achieving faster than light speeds, whether it's through ignoring light speed as the limit of speed, or through methods like Hyperspace in Star Wars or Slipstream Space in Halo.
